A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun.
A personal pronoun indicates
- · The person(s) speaking (first person): I, me, we or us
- · The person(s) being spoken to (second person): you
- · The person(s) or thing(s) being spoken about (third person): he, him, she, her, it, they, or them
Example
I command you to tell it quickly
I = first person pronoun; you = second person pronoun; it = third person pronoun
