OVERVIEW
On August 3, 2015, President Obama and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced the Clean Power Plan - a historic and important step in reducing carbon pollution from power plants that takes real action on climate change. Students will research the Plan and understand how government is taking a leadership role when it comes to regulating energy. Students will explore issues of environmental responsibility and pros and cons of a changing power sources in the United States.
ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
Research Obama's Clean Power Plan using the links provided. Discuss the plan and its effects as a class. Write a persuasive essay (500 words) explaining the plan goals, presenting the pros and cons, the n convincing the reader why s/he should be for or against the Plan.
